Venice Pier and Edward Sharp & The Magnetic Zeros
Listening to Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros right now and it is an album to be reckoned with.... Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros are a very organic Folk band from L.A. and they have come out with an album so true and amazing, every time I see this picture I think of their new album. Go get it and enjoy some music.
Crump Man Jr. x 3 point wireless strobe
Just getting back from the Magic trade show in Vegas, had a quick second to look over some pics from the week before. Nothing too special but I really dig how this came out. Picture of friend and fellow photographer Colin Crump. He did tell me he is working on a website that is much anticipated once its up and running you will be the 1st to know. So I've been listening to a band called Kitty, Daisy and Lewis I beg everyone to go and pick up the album its UNREAL and worth what ever they are charging for it, buy one for yourself and your neighbor they might finely stop leaving the trash cans in front of your driveway.

African Americans in WWII
As of recent I have become a fan of WWII leather goods, I really like the styles those crazy fuckers had... Looking up some WWII leather bags I came across this photo and being a photographer I couldn't help but fall in love with this image. We have all heard of African Americans in WWII but never seen them well I never have, well I was never there that could be part of it. Anyway, this is just a great pic and the bike is proper. Off to look for more Leather Goods. If you guys are in the market for a new wallet check out www.makr.com and www.billykirk.com they make some great stuff and billykirk maybe my reason behind the love of leather goods.

something New x something Old

Its been a really long time since I've blogged, lets hope this is the beginning of daily posting. New apt, New studio, New lens not a bad thing to have.
"Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don't wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it's at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored."

Kevin Morgan x Rocks x Balance
The art of balancing rocks has been an art form for centuries... kidding. I have no idea how long but I have seen plenty lately and I owe it all to one man Kevin Morgan. The new LA weekly 2009 people issue has an article about Kevin a local Venice artiest (this really makes me happy being from venice and all). Kevin stacks rocks from noon to sunset, Tuesday through Friday, the man needs a couple of days off people. I am in awe of these stacked pieces of art, it might be the balance of it all, no real idea for sure but nonetheless they are fantastic. If you ever see a collection of stacked rocks and find the beauty make sure you thank Kevin.

Sunrise

So a friend has gone to China for work and I have decided to send them pictures of Sunrise and Sunset. Here is what day 1 (sunrise) had to offer ... There is something that makes me feel great about sunrises but I can't put my finger on it... Starting this almost feels like a 365 project which I have never done, maybe b/c taking pictures of myself is not that gratifying. Listening to the new Camera Obscura album My Maudlin Career, folks this album is delectable one of my favorites so far in 09. Tracyanna Campbell's voice is so tender and sweet. Her intimate lyrical twists makes this album feel like you are on a roller coster of emotions... not a bad way to spend a night or a day at the office.

Good Friends x Miami x Stache
Well I've been home for almost a week now and I miss Mom, as you can tell I'm a total mommas boy. I don't call myself that (shit I just did) its just what people classify those who love their Mom's like I do. A friend from college tied the knot in Miami last weekend, needless to say it was a stunner trip. Some of the guys I haven't seen in years and some I see everyday. As you can see from the picture the party was on a Boat or a Yacht a nice one at that. I would have had my party on a farm with the biggest BBQ pit known to man but thats just how I roll. My buddy Tom and I decided to dress in our normal garb which to some is a little eccentric. Tom dressed a little more on the classic side then I but it was spot on perfection for the boat. Tom looks like he's straight out of the new Nautica ads that feature Sean Connery. I on the other hand wore tuxedo pants that were most likely made for a short fat man, waist 34 length 24, the fit was exactly what I was looking for, being 6 foot made the pants fit like a glove well a glove with the finger tips cut off... The stache was in full and running amuck. Why does having a mustace cause people to turn up their nose. Till the next time...

Dark Was The Night+SIlver Lake

Have you ever had one of those days that you wish would not end?? Man, I'm having one right now... the best thing about it the only thing I have keeping me from wanting this day to come to an end is 1) Dark Was The Night a compilation album of what some (that some is me) may consider the best Indie musicians of 2009. The list of talent reads like a Dream Team roster. 2) About 600 pictures of Silver Lake. If you are ever looking for a nice place to enjoy a Sunday I say make your way to Silver Lake, Ca. These pictures to some don't say much about Silver Lake but to me it says a lot. Enjoy...Friday, February 20, 2009
Goldmine Shithouse www.goldmineshithouse.com

Ok what to say??? These guys are amazing known as the The Goldmine Shithouse they are an artiest collaborative which was started by artiest David Hochbaum, Travis Lindguist and Colin Burns. I had the unbelievable opportunity to stop by their work space and catch these guys in action. This was by far one of the best experiences I have ever had. They started in 2003 the artiest would meet on a weekly basis keeping the doors open for friends and other artiest to join in the collaborative. There is nothing else to say these guys have been doing this for sometime now and deserve the best this world has to offer. The opening for their current show is this Saturday at the Nomad Project space 7-10. Please stop by look and buy some art or you can buy a house with the deed and all... Hope to see you all there.

Sunset Strip Project

A friend from spain well not actually from spain she lives there now came up with this great idea for a photo project. We would start at the beginning or end of Sunset blvd. what ever you want to call it, and take photographs of the changing scenery which changes ever 5 seconds. Try it out one day its not a bad drive and extremely entertaining. We got to see the down and out of Beverly Hills to the down and outs sitting on the side of the street... Enjoy. Comments are welcomed... I know I am talking to myself but its always nice to think you have an audience.
