Phoot Camp -Thanks Rachel Hulin

Over at Rachel Hulin's Blog (A Photo Photography Blog) which by the way is one of my favorites to read b/c she is funny and knows her Shi*, back on the 11th she posted an entry about a Phoot Camp a camping invite only work shop where you do the obvious, camp and shoot. Personally I think this is one of the greatest ideas. Man I go camping and take my equipment with me every time I go. Most of my friends think I'm crazy to bring my equipment but I can't help it. Wish I had the opportunity to go camping with creative types for a weekend of creating and learning.

Thanks Rachel... I really do love ur stuff.

Becks Record Club x Velvet Underground

The idea behind Becks record club was to get some friends and re-record whole albums devoid rehearsal and post one track a week on his new vamped website. Being a fan of Velvet Underground I was stoked that he started off with "Sunday Morning" one of my favorites from VU.

Sunday morning
Brings the dawn in
It's just a restless feeling by my side
Early dawning
Sunday morning
It's just the wasted years so close behind
Watch out the world's behind you
There's always someone around you who will call
It's nothing at all

Sunday morning
And I'm falling
I've got a feeling I don't want to know
Early dawning
Sunday morning
It's all the streets you crossed, not so long ago
Watch out the world's behind you
There's always someone around you who will call
It's nothing at all

Sunday morning
Sunday morning

Shotgun Honeymoon x 13

Images from the Shotgun Honeymoon photo sessions keep on coming to life... at 1st I was scared and not really expecting much... being scared is my m.o. trying to really get over that but its tough.

The video for 13 was shot in down town LA by Tom Dagnino and Jared Schoenemann 2 great friends and great creative minds.

Shotgun Honeymoon "13"

The Trench Coat

I personally do not own a trench coat but looking at The Satorialist I found these great pictures of the Trench, which I really liked. Not saying I'm going to walk right out and buy one but now I can see that its a don-able piece of clothing.

Phuket x Maldives

I've been talking about the Maldives for some time now and right now I think its about time to take the trip... maybe I can devise a plan to con a bank manager into giving me the keys to his precious safe... maybe not. Enjoy these pics I did and still have a smile on my face. I've also been looking at these for some time now.

Anybody wanna join me?

Victorian Revivalism x NY Times

Great Lake Swimmers x Changing Colours

Been listening to the Great Lake Swimmers catalogue (Lost Channels, Song Sung Blue EP, Ongiara, Bodies & Minds, Great Lake Swimmers, Hands In Dirt EP) for the past few days and really enjoying their sound. Tony Dekker's voice is one that can convey heartache and comfort all in the same space of a single phrase. I have read that Tony prefers to record in old churches, community halls, abandoned grain silos and rural locations... the mans voice needs no studio embellishments. Thanks Tony.

You look at me with uncertainty,
You look at me with urgency.
You look at me with fear in your eyes
like you're about to fall away.

But don't be afraid to change your colours now.
I've known you all Summer, and you rose above it all.
I see you hesitate to fall now,
But it's a pretty good view from down here, too.

And when the wind takes you, it takes me, too.
When you change colours, I change mine, too.
Try not to think, and I will try to.
When you let go, I will let go, too.

I knew you when you were green and strong.
You were like a feather on a wing, so long.
You know I will miss you when you are gone,
but don't be afraid if you just can't hang on.

'Cause when the wind takes you, it takes me, too.
When you change colours, I change mine, too.
Try not to think and I will try, too.
And when you let go, I will let go, too.

The cold air is pushing hard on you.
I know what you're saying; I can feel it, too.
You'll go through changes, and I'll go through them too.
Don't be afraid now, don't be afraid.

'Cause when the wind takes you, it takes me, too.
When you change colours, I change mine, too.
Try not to think and I will try, too.
And when you let go, I will let go, too

Shy Child x Liquid Love

Liquid Love the new album from NY duo Shy Child is slated for a 2010 release but you can go to their website and pick up a free track called Criss Cross. These guys have been playing together since the summer of 2000 since then they have released a slew of 7", an EP and 3 full lengths. Needless to say I'm excited for Liquid Love.
