Friendly Fires...

Haven't been on here as much as I would like could be the holidays or that I'm just spending more time at the bars. Listening to Jackson Browne's "The Pretender" a recommendation from a friend, UNREAL the songs been on repeat since saturday night... I hope people really got what the man was saying. The more I stare out the window and witness daily on goings between humans the more its seems but a few listened. A good friend described Jackson Browne as the "thinking mans rocker" thats pretty spot on. 

Winding Road

On my way to go fishing with a friend... A night in Vegas can make you want to leave for a few hours so thats what we did. I feel like everyone has been to Vegas but never leave the confines of the strip. Vegas is what some might say hell on earth to me its not, moderation is key here people... we can easily pull all nighters wake up face down on someone's floor with one shoe missing or we can go fishing we did all the above. So I am not the biggest fan of self portraits but here is one that I took one morning before I headed off to another day of fun in the sun, not really this day it was about 48 which is not that cold. Living at the beach has its perks and I count the change in weather one of them... We can't be that selfish and have fun in the sun everyday. I look like I weight about 300 pounds... dang who knew the camera added 120 pounds. 

Intimacy

So I'm listening to the new Bloc Party album and looking at pictures not a bad way to spend a Tuesday. 1st listen of Intimacy and I must say it's not bad, this I can say though it's no Silent Alarm but what is... These guys have come a long way and I am extremely proud of them. Every Day is Like Sunday by the Smiths just came on, it feels like itunes has its own mind and its in my head, what a great song... Took this while driving to the Hover Damn, some great pictures can still be taken while on the highway going 80 mph.  

Great News

Haven't really been up to adding any photos lately can't really say why. I was looking over some older stuff and stumbled on this one... Don't really know why the photograph was taken but it came out all right. On another note got some great news today. Wish I could share it with you but it would just be wrong of me, you know trying to be zen like... no judging. Needless to say "Told you so"

Taking Back Sunday

Never new TBS was this good. I was completely blown away and was able to capture these great images. They came out full force and rocked it. Club Nokia is a somewhat newer venue that is part of L.A Live this gargantuan complex downtown maybe built for the hopes of winning the bid for the olympics.... whatever it was great and TBS did a great job. Keep it up guys.

Shotgun Honeymoon Or SH as I like to call him...

SH has to me one of my dearest friends and also one of the most talented musicians I know (self taught everything). This guy is a musician but I consider him one of the greatest poets that I have ever  had the opportunity to meet and be friends with. Check out his music you will not be disappointed. If you just broke up with your girl friend, going through a divorce wife taking the kids, getting audited by the IRS you get my drift listen to this guys stuff.

More Clouds

For some reason I really like this picture it could be the color that draws me to it... I have no idea I just hope it does the same for you. On my way home to see my family maybe that's why they turned out so good someone was blessing me with the gift that day. It was my moms birthday and I was surprising her... I hope she was. 

The Lights

The Lights at the El Rey. This little thing is from Toronto Canada and cute as a button (how can a button be cute I need to do some research on this phrase) knowing Canada has been the author of many great musicians I jumped at the opportunity to shoot The Lights who was opening up for Lovedrug, Lydia and Copeland. Check them all out defiantly worth a listen.

A Poor Kids Guide To Success...

These guys wrote, directed, produced and acted in one of the truest independent movies I have ever had the opportunity to work on, fuck that the TRUEST INDEPENDENT movie... Hollywood categorizes independents as movies that are made for 10mill or under. Ladies and Gents 10mill is no indy, anyone who tells you that it is can go and shove it. This was guerilla film making at its best. Looking forward to making number 2 gents. Lets make this happen.

Venice Sundays...

Sundays in Venice have been amazing lately... I have fallen into this routine with the neighbors. We sit, drink, talk and have a good old time... Last week we had a sword fight in the back ally with homemade weapons (that's right homemade). There was even a 4ft sword involved. I also had the opportunity to shoot a harpoon. Who in their right mind would ever want to shoot a harpoon?? It was fun and I can't wait to do it again.
