Everything is perfect in their imperfections...

When it flows from the fingers
And turns to stone
It shatters with the touch
Feel the air, breathe it in
Turn the corner, take the bend
Give or take the bend
It's a spiralling cork-screw path towards you
It's a sinking, twisted path from me to you

For a second I saw you so clearly (clearly)
For a moment I knew you so dearly (dearly)
I looked into your eyes and into your mind
You were laughing like a statue come to life

The subtle piano raindrops
The creaking of the buildings and their cellos
The wind was our violin
The sky was a symphonic mural of stars
Hiding behind perfectly placed clouds
Because everything is the way it is
And everything is perfect in their imperfections
And everything is placed the best
And it is now, and it is here
And tomorrow is another now
Waiting to happen

The roar of an action silences all the words
The cry of an accomplishment
Drowns the whimper of ten thousand words
And we live in our actions and our reactions
And we live in our actions and our reactions

Brooklyn Museum X Who Shot Rock and Roll

Nothing better Photography and Music..
More than two hundred photographs, sensual, luminous, frenzied, true, from 1955 to the present, that catch and define the energy, intoxication, rebellion, and magic of rock and roll; the first book to explore the photographs and the photographers who captured rock’s message of freedom and personal reinvention—and to examine the effect of their pictures on the musicians, the fans, and the culture itself.
To bring together these images, Gail Buckland, acclaimed photographic editor, curator, and scholar, looked through the archives of one hundred photographers, selecting pictures not on the basis of the usual suspects, but on the power of the images themselves, often picking an image a photographer didn’t even remember he or she had taken.

Lossa Engineering x Color chart

Worked on a shoot with the very talented Jared Schoenemann last week no pictures of the Bikes just yet but got this one the other day and thought I would post... This might be my 40th picture from Jared holding the color chart. The bikes we shot where amazing all custom built Cafe Racers, if driving in L.A. wasn't as dangerous as a Rabbi in Iraq I would have one already.

I can't get enough of this lady... Video

Amanda Blank = I Love You

Do yourself a favor and get this album I Love You by Amanda Blank. Amanda is a Philly rapper who has got all the goods... she is pretty, talented and a hip fucking chick.... I want to meet this girl bad. Maybe she will let us take pictures of her... Hey Amanda? when are you coming to LA?????? Please be soon. Need to try to get a photo session with her before I'm waiting in line behind Diltz, which probably has already been done.

With production from David Sitek and many others this girl is going to have a great career.

Pick it up Amanda Blank "I Love You"
I can't get this out of my CD player in the car, Itunes at work, ipod when on the move, you name it this girl is playing on it. I haven't felt this strong about a RAPPER/Musician since Gang Starr's "No More Mr. Nice Guy" dropped in '89'

I think I love this lady

Mustaches x Mario

Please put some boots on this kid, Red Wings would be perfect, only negative about this picture is those hideous sandals... I know he is a kid but man. PLEASE parents do not ever do this to your child they don't deserve it. The costume is still amazing.

Alex de Large x Halloween

This can't get any better. Wish my parents would have dressed me up as Alex de Large at the ripe age of 5... I wasn't even born when they released A Clockwork Orange. With halloween nearing we all know there will be around 1000 Alex's causing a great deal of trouble. Be safe people and if you see this little chap RUN!!!

Fixed Gear x Breaking

Classic picture I can get enough of this...

Down Town L.A. Randoms

Be Back Soon

New Port x Vacation

My parents are in town this week so I've been spending time with them... what a great time we are having. Just realized that my parents vacation in style.. this place is great and could be my permanent home. The only down fall is that I feel so far away from the city and people I know. I am loving it here but it is no Venice Beach. My parents are having a great time also and are happy I don't live in a cardboard box.

So I'm working on a shoot this friday with the very talented Jared Schoenemann. We will be shooting some vintage motorcycles in Long Beach should have some pics from the shoot later this week.

ACL x Hemingway

Being a fan of American style and photography I was really excited to see that ACL had posted a selection of Hemingway pictures with the Title Papa... Brilliant my friends pure beauty. The guy was a literary genius we all know that but tend to forget. I can't remember the last time I read Hemingway, I can tell you this its not going to be long before I do. Actually a few months back I picked up "From Who The Bell Tolls" once Junky (William S Burroughs) is done Hemingway it is.

Eco-Lectric Tour x Shotgun Honeymoon

Well leave it to the internet to tell me that my friend will be playing a show in NY... Thanks SH... Kidding. Well if anyone is in NY October 24th head on over to Kenny's Castaways at 157 Bleecker Street and check out all the acts but defiantly check out Shotgun Honeymoon. The line up is one to check out.

The Year of the Beast x Wild Beasts

The Last couple of years we have seen movies from Mutants, Comic Heros, Aliens, Zombies, Vampires and Beasts all in their own right amazing but for me the Beasts take the cake... We have the release of "Where The Wild Things Are" by Spike Jones (that should be enough reason to go see it) and we also have Wild Beasts a great band from Kendal, England who by NME magazine was listed on their top 10 "tipped for the top". If you like Grizzly Bear pick this up along with Crash Encore a band from SD you wont go wrong.

Peggy Sue X Tom D. from APKGTS

Was listening to KCRW this morning and enjoying the amazing sounds of Peggy Sue Please check them out... These girls and I guy are witty and very talented. Reading their blog I can see that they are fans or not fans (I'm not a fan) of what some call R n B radio. So funny. They do great covers and even better originals. Their cover of Missy Elliot's "All in my grill" is worth a listen.

Peggy Sue if Im not mistaken will be around town this week.

Duck Boots x Photography

So I used this picture to make a printed lining for a roll down duck boot I was working on. There is a total of 4 of the same picture in this image. Its just something I've seen once and thought that I can do that, like I think about everything else. If someone else can do it well damit I can also. I have always been this way. The way things are made interest me beyond belief... I can look at pictures, pictures of thing, things, anything and spend hours figuring out how it was made... a gift and a curse... those both sound really good to me. It might be the designer in me or just design as art.

Fall Weather x Byrd and Belle

I'm in love with this Bryd and Belle felted wool extremely smart laptop sleeve. Its perfect for this amazing fall weather we are having right now. This hand made sleeve by Etsy crafter Byrd and Belle consists of 1/8" Marino Wool and closes using a sturdy graphite snap to hold that trust Macbook in place. Really this thing is smart and is getting me in the mood to go out and buy some gear just so I can rock this daily.

Check out their stuff... Price is great, concepts and execution flawless.

Great job guys keep it up. I will be a trusted patron.

Cafe Racer x Quoddy High

The Quoddy High lace up boot has to be my favorite shoe right now... I became a fan of Quoddy last year with the release of their Albam Moccasin deck shoe. The folks at Quoddy definitely know a thing or 2 about making great deck shoes and it 100% reflects in their work. Can't wait to get mine in the mail... Get yourself some this winter and enjoy all the compliments you will get.

Quoddy Deck boots and Cafe Racers looks like its going to be a great fall... The weather just started changing around here and being a man from NJ Im really enjoying it.

Vampire Weekend x Horchata

Contra the new album from Vampire Weekend is slated for a January 12th 2010 release date... but you can go right to their website and get yourself a new single "Horchata" www.vampireweekend.com I've been reading some blogs about this song and its not getting any love... I call those people idiots. They remind me of Jack Black's character from "high-fidelity" Go to their site download the song and dance around the apt. you wont be disappointed.

Electro-Rock Duo x Shotgun Honey Moon

Listened to the new album "A Brief History Of Love" from The Big Pink (name taken from one of my favorite bands "The Band" debut album) band consists of 2 life long friends  from good old LONDON... I love saying London really loud with an annoying accent, I don't think its annoying but for sure many people do. The two band mates are both talented multi-instrumentalist when performing live they are joined by a slue of musicians... just to name a couple Jo Apps and Daniel O' Sullivan.

Check out their site its really dope and they are amazing.

Enjoy.

Picture from one of the Shotgun Honeymoon sessions. Didn't really edit much tried to keep it plain and simple.

AIR x The Chef

Been doing a lot of shooting lately should have some great stuff soon... didn't have a chance to really do any editing last night but I did listen to an amazing album. Air the french duo of Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Dunckel have an album out called Love 2 and it is such a great album it made me turn off Only for Cubin Linx Pt. II from the Chef last night and that has been hard to do since the Drop of it. What a year for great music I must say the best yet... some may call me crazy but I like evolving music I like going forward, don't get me wrong I enjoy a classic as much as any other person but music this year has been not stop HEAT.
